Set on the tranquil banks of the Yarra River, this project involved 31 attached residences on a 2500 sqm site that was previously occupied by warehouse buildings. The master plan involved four banks of townhouses that tier down the site to the river’s edge, creating a small harmonious community. Natural materials such as zinc, cedar and stone were used to reflect the adjacent natural environment. Zinc patterns on the building’s facade references the surrounding street grids and local urban network. A redesign of the vegetation on the Yarra River bank and Crown Street was also implemented to make the development’s surrounds a relaxed and peaceful place to dwell.
